For a third year in a row these two special girls, Grace and Sage decided to donate to animals in need instead of receiving presents on their birthday. Each on each birthday, Grace and Sage invited friends over to a birthday party but encouraged them to donate what they would have spent on birthday presents. Every year they then donate what they have raised to Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue to help homeless animals in need, but each choose particular cases they want to help. Grace this year donated towards Ruby-Sue, and Sage donated towards Petite Puce. We then bring the pups by to give a personal thank you kiss! We hope these young girls continue to inspire compassion and philanthropy amoungts their peers.

Update from Sophie's foster mum; Little miss Sophie is thiving. She is recovering beautifully from surgery and doesn't think that something as silly as pins in the leg should slow her down. She is very pleased that she gets to come on short walks with Kai and is such an upbeat happy pup.

Last night we picked this sweet as can be little girl from the Montreal SPCA who called us looking for options for this deserving pup down on luck. She was surrendered a few days ago after being found as a 'stray' with a broken leg, that looks like it could be up to 2 weeks old. She is scheduled this Monday for surgery to either place her leg back together or amputate if needed. She is on strong pain killers for the weekend to keep her comfortable until her surg

A year ago on Demeber 1st these two babies were adopted after being found in the freezing rain, next to a busy road nursing on each other out of starvation. Here is their one year update, far from where they were rescued from; 

"Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year!

Kimmi and Gunther are doing great. They are healthy, happy, playful, social, loving cats! Kimmi is quite independent and doesn't like to be held much but loves sleeping on your hip or under your blanket, and when she wants your attention, she demands it. Gunther is such an easy-going dude who loves being held and cuddling. They both love treats, cat-nip, chasing their toys, and hanging out with any visitors.

They have fortunately stopped suckling on one another! (It stopped 3-4 months ago, approx.) Gunther does this funny thing where he suckles on himself though - when he's content with you petting him, or when he's ready to sleep, his little tongue is on his leg/paw and he suckles away. It's the weirdest/cutest/most intriguing thing. I guess it's a self-soothing behavior, much like a baby sucking one's thumb.
