Reason Rescued: Chili's first owner got a one-way ticket to Europe as a graduation present, but unfortunately there was no ticket for Chili to go with them. Chili was surrendered to us in hopes of finding him a new loving home. He was adopted but returned after he chewed out of his cage a few times. This has not been a problem in his foster home, where he gets lots of time to run around and exercise. Chili is semi-tame: he'll take treats from your hand and let you scratch his chin, and he loves to run around! He's a handsome Chinchilla looking for the perfect home. Chili is veterinary checked and neutered.
Chili was adopted summer 2011 by his foster homes

Reason Rescued: Meet Mr. Jay, this little guy was rescued September 2009 after he was brought in by his previous owner to be euthanized because she was allergic to him. Thankfully he was rescued at the last minute, literally as the euthanol syringe was being pulled up. He's been very patient in his time with us, having stayed with us so long that we've had to switch him into multiple new homes because his temporary fosters had to move away! Don't get the wrong idea though, it's not because of him! He's a joy to have around. He loves being pet and sitting on the couch with you, and he enjoys lots of play time outside of his large cage and is pretty well litter trained. He loves people, gets along with dogs, and enjoys sharing carrots with his foster family's cats. He would be best as the only rabbit in the house.
His newest foster says: "Mr Jay is great! He is definitely not what I expected when i first met him. He seemed a bit skittish and nervous when I met him at his old home but he's really a big suck that loves to be pet! He will push his big head under your hand and he'll nudge you to continue when you stop petting. He's quite social and very curious, loves to explore but has a hard time walking on hard floor (he slides around) so I put lots of blankets. He's a great eater and is getting used to having so much veg everyday, he seems to love it... dandelion greens and kale seem to be 2 of his favorites... he also loves strawberries as a treat! He's almost perfectly clean in the cage. He also like to jump on the couch with us."
Mr. Jay was finally adopted by his fourth foster hime spring 2011

Reason Rescued: Laverne and Shirley are 2 female rats who are around 2 years old. They are incredibly intelligent and affectionate. They love to be out of the cage and roam around on the sofa, or sit up on your shoulder and keep you company. They're great with people and are full of energy, so they're always ready to play or just explore. They love to discover new things and are happy to hang out on the bed or couch with you. These gals will make amazing pets for anyone looking for an affectionate, playful set of rodents. Laverne and Shirley are veterinary checked.
These two ladies were adotpted by their foster home Spring 2011 along with Bun Bun, Mr, Jay and their mice firends. |

Reason Rescued: Bun Bun is a lovely male Rex just looking for love. He's great with people, loves playing with dogs, and is happiest when he can cuddle up in bed with you. He's very affectionate and likes head nuzzles and resting his neck on yours as you watch TV. He's not just a couch potato though; Bun Bun has plenty of energy to run around and is currently being housetrained, which he's picking up like a pro. His favourite snack is parsley, and he looks forward to having you stroke his amazingly soft fur so he can show you what a great pet he'll be! Bun Bun is veterinary checked and neutered.

Yago was introduced to his new and final forever home and transition is going very smoothly. He's even been breaking bread with his new family. Things sound like they are going even better then we could have expected! Good luck Yago and family!

Rescue Story: Shayo is a spotted lop who was brought into one of our affiliated vet clinics to be euthanized by his previous owner for aggression. Although we took a gamble taking him on, as it is hard enough to find homes for nice rabbits, let alone angry rabbits, we were able to come through for Shayo the misunderstood bun. After neutering him, and working through his territorial issues, he made some progress with us. However his adoptive family continued to work with him, and within a week he turned into what they call 'a lap bun'.. he finally feels safe and secure enough to let his gaurds down. He loves his new home as much as they love him!
Post Adoption Update: Shayo is now names Shiloh and could not be happier with his new family. |
